Camp

Park.
Cub start camp is a go for this year
it will be held the weekend of Sept 25-27 at Ponder Park please
watch for important information to follow in the next few days.
There will be a central kitchen, cost will be $20/ youth and $10
for leaders. Please bring your Ideas to Scouters club this Thursday.
Please respond to me if you have any ideas you would like to see
included in this years Cub start. Crest design will be at camp.
A schedule and kit list are posted.
Planning for activity volunteers will take place at Scouters'
Club (Sep17), and if necessary a Planning meeting will be scheduled
for the week prior to camp (hopefully we can get volunteers for
all sessions prior to camp.
Just
like the Fraser Valley Scouts do a Kick-Off camp every Fall, near
the beginning of October, the Nicomekl Cubs now have a Start-Up
camp that they can go to. All Cubs are invited to
attend. We hope that
all Packs will take advantage of this opportunity. This camp will
help new Cubs get oriented to the Pack program and also will give
new Cub leaders a chance to achieve some of the outdoor requirements
on the Pack BasicTraining done. We are looking for Scouters that
may be able to head some of the sessions for the youth and leaders.
Some examples are: Introduction to Scouting for leaders, knife
safety, hiking, knots, setting up tarps etc. Most sessions are
about one hour long. If you have any questions or you can head
some of the sessions, please let us know. Your help will be greatly
appreciated. Just a reminder, that EVERYONE should have a Physical
Fitness Form with them for their time at the camp, even if just
there to train for an hour or so. |
