The Ballad Of Jim Bryce
.
.
Come listen to a story about a man named Jim,
A brave Cub leader who once had a whim
To run a week-long Summer Camp full of 64 Wolf Cubs,
And teach 'em archery, canoeing, and use pools as bathtubs.
(And waterslides... Firefighters... Fun stuff you see...)
2000
.
Next thing you know, he's been there 15 years.
He's managed to keep his sanity -- but he's lost a few gray hairs!
He signed up his best staff for full decade,
But what he forgot to tell them was -- they're not getting paid!
(In cash that is... They get free room and board...)
Well, now it's time to shout hurray for Jim and his idea.
We hope you'll all come back - we'd really like to see ya
All next year for a Cub Odyssey, and my Lordy,
Perhaps you'll even return to help us celebrate our 30!
(Years that is... You'll be adults then... Jim will be... well never mind!)
.
.
Congratulations on fifteen
very successful years

- from all of your staff volunteers.

There are now thousands of kids out there
(many are adults now)
who will always remember their wonderful
week(s) at Summer Cub Camp, at McLean.
