Volunteers wanted for Friends of Semiahmoo Bay Society Shoreline Cleanup on Sunday, September 24th at Crescent Beach
Join Us! We need your help at Blackie Spit, Crescent Beach, on Sunday, September 24th, 8am – 1pm as Friends of Semiahmoo Bay Society takes part in the TD Canada Trust Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup! Drop in for an hour or stay for the morning!
Volunteers are needed to assist with cleanup, data collection, and diver support. During the event you will have the chance to meet with members of the City of Surrey Nature Matters team, the Friends Beach Hero Interpreter, and members of Canada World Youth.
The action begins at 8am when divers from Ocean Pro Divers prepare to take to the waters to work on a sub tidal debris removal. Shoreline cleanup teams will then fan out and clean up the beach from Sullivan Point to Blackie Spit.
Did you know that in 2005 cigarette filters topped Canada’s dirty dozen list as over 208,855 filters were collected? Help us make a difference.

Further information is available on our website at www.birdsonthebay.ca   Email information@birdsonthebay.ca to say you can volunteer!   Thank you!    Jane Weiss, Friends of Semiahmoo Bay Society   tel: 604-536-3552    fax: 604-676-2281
